History
Pender Technology has a long history of developing and applying FTIR
spectrometers and is currently developing several imaging FTS systems. One of
the systems currently being developed is a dual channel MW/LW IR imaging
spectrometer. This system consists of collection optics, integrated calibration
system, interferometer, MW FPA, LW FPA, readout electronics, digital data
acquisition systems, and processing, visualization, and analysis software.
In Development
A more advanced system named FIST (for Flexible Imaging SpecTrometer) is also
under development. This is an imaging FTS system with a focal plane array of
detectors that can be operated in one of several modes, with selectable spatial,
spectral, and temporal resolution. It offers choices among spectral, spatial,
and temporal operations to optimize the data throughput for specific
applications. Diverse modes of operation include strictly spatial, strictly
spectral, or a combination of spatial and spectral, and it can be used in a high
sensitivity super-throughput mode.
Software
Customized software tools are being developed and integrated into
ADAPT in support of these instruments.
